Built to commemorate the Great Fire of London, Monument stands at 202ft above the City of London, offering a unique perspective to those who climb the spiral staircase to take in the view from atop. Open only on weekends and during school holidays. Very reasonably priced compared to other viewing platforms in London.
The Monument stands at the junction of Monument Street and Fish Street Hill in the City of London. It was built between 1671 and 1677 to commemorate the Great Fire of London and to celebrate the rebuilding of the City.
You can walk all the way up the column for a great view - and you also get discounted ticket to visit Tower Bridge.
Bus 35 or 40 (stop L on the Walworth Rd) and go over London Bridge. Start your visit of the City of London by taking in the fabulous view from the top of the Monument to the Fire of London.
