Standing Indian Campground is a small feature in a massive natural wonderland where the Appalachian Trail bisects traverses the Nantahala Wilderness. The hiking trails are complex and lengthy, so plan wisely before you undertake a hike. A hike to the summit of Standing Indian Mountain will give you iconic views of Lake Chatuge and Brasstown Bald in Hiawassee, GA. Shorter hikes are available to Mooney and Big Laurel Falls and Albert Mountain Fire Tower. Take care to study your route, some trails are complex and strenuous in certain places, especially on the Appalachian Trail.
