Follow the bark of the seals and sea lions to Crescent City Marina and Harbour. Soak up the sun with them and wander the docks. With over 200 commercial fishing boats, it’s a bustling seafood paradise. Stroll through the marina and admire the persistence of the community. This area — along with dozens of city blocks — were all or partially destroyed by a devastating tsunami in March of 1964. With damages estimated around $16 million, the harbor now triumphantly produces the highest value of commercial seafood north of Monterey.

The harbors of Crescent City are a fun place to walk around and look at the fishing boats of Crescent City up close. Crabbing is huge here in late fall/early winter. If you’re in the area during that time of the year, you’ll see hundreds of crab baskets stacked in the parking lot of the harbor in preparation for the season.
