Pen y Ghent is part of the famous 3 peaks of Yorkshire walk but makes a lovely walk in its own right. Setting off from Horton or from the road towards Halton Gill, Pen y Ghent is a good challenge for any walker but definitely worth it. On a good day the views from the top are spectacular. On most weekends though expect a lot of company at the top, the 3 peaks are getting very popular!

As seen on Britain's Best Walks, presented by Julia Bradbury. Pen-y-ghent, the smallest of the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, however, the most spectacular. If you take Julia’s walk on the classic ascent of this iconic fell out of the ancient Dales town of Horton. From the start, this stunning fell urges you on to challenge yourself on the climb to the summit. For those that like walks and stunning scenery combined, this is most definitely up there with the very best!

An out and back walk from Dale Head up Pen-y-ghent in the Yorkshire Dales. The Pennine Way path is followed from Dale Head to the summit of Pen-y-ghent and then the same path is retraced to the start. The path passes by Churn Milk Hole on its way to joining the Pen-y-ghent path up from Horton in Ribblesdale. From the summit, there are wonderful panoramic views.

Do it for charity or do it for the pride of conquering 3 peaks in succession. Most people start in Horton with Pen-y-Ghent but it's up to you....
