The barrage isn't exactly a park, but it pretty green and is between the sea and the bay. It's one of the best and most unusual views of Cardiff. it has a large kids skate park, sand park and play-area. You can walk all the way across to Penarth Marina, the bridge is fascinating. It's nice to stop in the cafe on the waterfront, decide which boat you'd like to live on before heading back to the Cardiff side.

The lock system which links the Cardiff Bay to the tidal Bristol Channel was one of Europe's largest civil engineering projects when it was completed in 1999. It is a "must see" if you are technically minded, but it is great to simply while away some time watching the boats move in and out of the Bay.
