Remember that Milan’s canals were first built in the 12th century to connect the growing city to the Po River for easy access to food and goods from the countryside. The artistic engineer designed the canal locks for the Naviglio di San Marco basin, which can still be seen today.

You'll actually be in one of the most fascinating areas in Milan, especially after it has been restored. Lot of restaurants, a couple of art museums and is also Milan design area.

it's a canal right around Milan that you can travel over by little boats : you have to book tickets. the district is also beautiful and very romantic so you can also enjoy walking around!! there are many restaurants and little hidden hotels. the best time to go would be late evening because it all lights up!!
