This is our favourite beach to visit. It's a bit off the beaten track and usually only frequented by locals, and although it gets a bit busier in peak seasons, most tourists head to neighbouring Bude beach, so Northcott is usually quieter! It has beautiful rock formations and lots of rockpools for the kids to explore and even bath - deep ones for them to play in! The surf is also great at this beach and there are lifeguards on duty in peak season. When the tide is out you can walk along the beach to neighbouring Sandymouth and Bude and back again. There is also a little cafe serving drinks, snacks and most importantly - cream teas!

5 minute drive or 20 minute walk. Quirky tea room in a caravan just down the lane from this beach for cream teas and refreshments. Access the coastal path and stroll in to Bude from here.

Walk the South West Coastal Path from Crooklets beach and in just 20 minutes you will arrive at this beautiful unspoilt beach. Time it right and at low tide you can walk all the way along the sand. It's a 5 minute drive (down Maer Lane), parking is by donation in the National Trust car park. It has all the charms of a rural beach, but is close to town. Dog friendly all year round. Don't forget to visit Sip & Sea for coffee, cake or even a cocktail! Live music sessions at the weekend (weather permitting).

Our favourite, absolutely beautiful. Walk the coast path to nearby Sandymouth where there is a great little cafe.

This is a lovely beach, with free National Trust parking. It is lifeguarded during peak season and has a little cafe. It's around a 50 minute drive.
