Ancient Fortress setting on a hill above the historical center of Poggibonsi and above the Park of the "Fonte delle Fate". The Fortress is free entrance and it's an ideal area to relax enjoying the panorama on the Chianti Hills. You can reach the fortress walking on the walls of the ancient town. Inside of the walls there are just field of grass and on the top of the small hill a small archeological site that you can reach from the fortress by a very short path in few second! Sometime in Summer the fortress hosts important events such as small outdoor concerts or special wine testing for example on San Lorenzo night!

La Fortezza Imperiale, trasformata in un parco dove fare passeggiate panoramiche a tema archeologico, storico-architettonico o naturalistico-ambientale, circondato da possenti mura con un fortilizio aperto alle visite.

Luogo suggestivo, la Fortezza di Poggio Imperiale merita di sicuro una visita. Resti della via francigena sono visibili all'interno dell'area archeologica dove è possibile visitare le capanne ricostruite dell'epoca.
