For years, artist Jose Rodriguez Fuster has worked with the community of Jaimanita to give new life to the exteriors of 80 buildings. His colorful mosaic work is in a naive style, something like Antoni Gaudi, yet with a very Cuban aesthetic. His project has helped the community by bringing tourists’ attention and dollars to the neighborhood. You can see Fuster’s work on 80 renovated homes in this neighborhood. The family medical office and the bus stop are just a couple of his commissions worth checking out.

José Antonio Rodríguez Fuster is a ceramist, draftsman, painter and printmaker. He has made illustrations for several publications, participated in a number of international symposiums and events, and received various national and international awards and mentions. Fuster has made a major contribution over 18 years of work in the town of Jaimanitas in the outskirts of Havana. He has decorated over 80 houses and parks with murals, paintings, sculptures, etc. Having involved the neighbors in this work, Fuster’s project is a unique display of public art.

This is a living museum. The author, Jose Fuster is a cuban artists, born and raised in this neighborhood. He has decorated the space, buildings, bus stops, his town and opens the door to visitors. Very interesting place to go!

Local painter and sculptor José Fuster created this kaleidoscopic display of mosaics, sculptures, and paintings throughout the neighborhood to represent his life and art. Affectionately known as the "Picasso of the Caribbean," Fuster even decorated neighbors' homes and bus shelters.
