The Wildcat Mountain Bike Trail is purportedly the best spot to ride mountain bikes in Washburn County. This is really the only true singletrack trail of any substantial size in the county. With recent additions, it totals about 19 miles in length of rolling trails. However, not all 19 miles is actual singletrack: there's a combination of dirt roads and ATV doubletrack here that's required to connect all of the pieces of singletrack together.

For the serious mountain biker...a singletrack trail near Spooner. Note, this is not for first-timers or beginners and a proper mountain bike and proper equipment are a must.

The Wildcat Mountain Bike Trail is 20 miles of loop trails in the township of Beaverbrook. A parking area lies 4 miles east of Spooner just off of Highway 70. A combination of single track, old logging trails, and portions of the Beaverbrook ATV trail provide for a wide variety of riding skills and experiences.

East & West Loop, 13 miles from Trego Lake Gem. East Loop- 4.7-mile intermediate/difficult loop with natural single-track and logging trail connections. Open in the summer when conditions are not muddy and open in the winter for fat bikes with a machine-packed trail. Ride it as a loop or connect to the West Loop. West Loop- 4.4 miles easy/intermediate doubletrack climb to a 1.5-mile single track section to Scullenberger Lake with moderate climbs.
