Nice walk in Fão/Ofir We start this trail near the old Hotel do Pinhal in Fão, and follow a section of the footpaths that are part of the "Nature trail: between Cávado and the Atlantic - PR2 - Esposende". Located in the municipality of Esposende, it runs along the south margin of the Cávado river estuary, an area of special interest and beauty, much sought after by birdwatching. Sensibly halfway along the walkway, there is a birdwatching station, where the main species we can observe throughout the year are identified. In this short walk we can see the Black Ibis, White Herons, Common Ducks, Teals and Gulls. The vegetation is typical of intermediate marshy areas where fresh and salt water cohabit.
