The Georgia International Horse Park is an iconic venue that was first opened in September of 1995. Having hosted the the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, the venue has also hosted the first mountain bike competition. The park hosts two annual events; the Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival and the Big Haynes Creek Wildlife festival. Catering to other gatherings, the park also holds a stadium, a few arenas and pavilions and other event venues. The park also has a number of hiking and biking trails. About 25 minutes away is the Georgia International Horse Park. From the beginning, it has been groomed for greatness. Since opening its gates in September of 1995, the GIHP has already served as the equestrian venue for the largest sporting event in the world: The 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. The park was the setting for all equestrian events, as well as mountain bike competition and the final two events of the modern pentathlon. Today, the tradition continues as the GIHP plays host to a remarkable variety of special events. Whether you are planning an equestrian competition, festival, concert, wedding reception, family reunion or sports competition, the park's sprawling 1,400 acres can accommodate events of all shapes and sizes.
