A great spot to sit out in summer or spend wintry days warm inside as you look out onto the sea. It gets busy and you can't book ahead so be prepared to wait a little while and during school holidays etc

This chippy, which has been in the same spot for over forty years, sells an amazing range of individual cheesecakes! If you eat under the canopy at the front of the shop you can take advantage of the sea views you get from being at the top of the hill.

Tiny fresh crab and seafood shop, spotlessly clean and run by a really nice chap called Dave. Highly recommended!

I love this restaurant, the food's really good. It's not particularly cheap and on one visit they were down to one toilet for use by the whole restaurant (and it was in the gents!) but that aside, well worth a visit, the seafood is always excellent. Red Wharf Bay is a great place for a walk and offers loads of nice places to sit and enjoy the views over a drink.

Sightseeing

A breathtakingly beautiful Gothic mansion on the banks of the Menai Straits. Home to the Marquis of Anglesey, Plas Newydd regularly played host to British artist Rex Whistler who painted a stunning Neo-Classical mural on the dining room wall, it's the largest of its kind in the UK. The gardens are incredibly atmospheric and picturesque, the tree house is great fun.

A really photogenic castle, perfectly proportioned and one of the last built by Edward 1st, sadly it was never finished. It won't take long to investigate the staircases, turrets and ramparts, but it's a nice to wander about, soak up the atmosphere and admire the views from top of the towers.

The present building dates from the late 15th century, but there has been a church on this site since the sixth or early seventh century, making it one of the oldest Christian sites in Anglesey. One hundred and forty of the victims of 1859's Royal Charter shipwreck are buried in the churchyard. Charles Dickens, who wrote about the loss of the ship, praised the rector of the church in his ministrations for victims, survivors and their families.

Everything Else

A Catholic Church well used to catering for holidaymakers. The priest and laypeople who run the Parish are all very welcoming.
