The cottage is situated on Wattle Valley Farm adjacent to our living quarters and a short walk to the iconic Wollombi Brook. During your stay, you might even come across some of our friendly native residents like wombats, kangaroos, playpus, echidnas, goannas, kookaburras and black cockatoos.

Pied-à-terre on Hospital Hill

Our studio is a peaceful, quite centrally located place. Pied-à-terre, located on the historic hospital hill, is a detached self contained flat with a living/bedroom area, with a queen bed and a double fold out sofa bed. It has a kitchenette with microwave, kettle and toaster only. It's at the rear of the property amidst a lovely garden. A quiet escape from the busy downtown of Cessnock only a 10 to 15 minute walk away, and a 8 minute drive to the gateway of the Hunter Valley Vineyards.

Palm Cottage is located close to the lake and is a great base to explore vineyards, mountains, beaches, the city of Newcastle and so much more. Newcastle Uni is moments away, John Hunter Hospital is a 7 minute drive. Private entry through the garage & you are welcomed to a leafy backdrop & creature comforts of home. Please note, our beautiful dog Bob is regularly in the yard the flat opens out to. You will see him in the yard during your stay. Pats encouraged 😊

Our charming studio is only 3 meters from the lapping waters edge of Lake Macquarie. Just relax and watch the yachts sail by, magnificent views. It's quite romantic to sit in the moonlight and feel the lake breeze in the evening. Through day you might like to try your luck at a spot of fishing from our jetty or enjoy a stroll down the main street looking through the boutique shops of Toronto 2 minutes away. A row of gourmet cafe/restaurants that face the lake.

Please note: Our base rate is for 2 guests and includes access to only one bedroom (the upstairs Super King bed). The second bedroom (downstairs Queen bed) will remain locked. If you require both bedrooms for 2 people, please update the number of guests to 3 adults (covers additional room charge) Selecting infants or children will not unlock the second bedroom as they stay for free. Alternatively selecting 3-4 adults automatically opens the second bedroom.
