Bike Park Wales, Afan Forest Park and Margam Park are close for dedicated MTB Trails and there are a wealth of off-piste options. Nearby Zip World South offers you the chance to fly through the air on the fastest seated zip line. Our utility room can be used for running bike repairs or comfortably storing SUP/Surf boards upto 2.5m.

Shepherd's Rest

Shepherds Rest is a newly refurbished and charmingly decorated 2001 registered Iveco stock lorry. Originally used to transport sheep from farm to farm, before retiring from duties hence where the name Shepherds Rest has originated from. It has been given a new lease of life offering a slightly different glamping experience, creating a warm, cosy and inviting place to stay. Situated overlooking the Black Mountains at the Southern tip of the Brecon Beacons National park on a working hill farm.

Only 200m from blue/red bike trails and the Afan Valley Bike Shed. Beaches and supermarket within 15 minute drive. Fully equipped kitchen including washing machine and dishwasher. We’re set at the foot of the Brecon Beacons National park. We welcome couples, families, groups of 4, and of course pets. 🐶 We’ve added a little bit of luxury to our ‘cottage in the hills’ setting with the addition of our beautiful hot tub. Our location is surrounded by fantastic walks, rivers, waterfalls, and a pub 100yds from the front door. After a day out enjoying the fresh air, why not come home to a private dip in the hot tub, and a snooze in front of the log burner.
