Official Rules of the Airbnb “Unfollow the Crowd” Mini-break Prize Draw

YOU MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE AIRBNB ACCOUNT IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO ENTER THIS PRIZE DRAW. NO ADDITIONAL PURCHASES OR PAYMENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ENTER.

By entering this prize draw (“Prize Draw”), you agree to these terms and conditions (“Official Rules”). The “Interpretations and Disputes” clause below contains information about the applicable law and jurisdiction governing these Official Rules.

Promoter

Airbnb Ireland UC, a company registered in Ireland under Company Number 511825 whose registered office is at 3 Dublin Landings, North Wall Quay, Dublin 1, D01C4E0, County Dublin, Ireland (“Airbnb”) is the promoter (“Promoter”) of this Prize Draw.


The Prize Draw

Eligible persons (“Entrants”), who meet the eligibility conditions set out below at any time, may enter the Prize Draw from 00:00GMT on 9 June 2025 until 00:00GMT on 31 July 2025 by following the procedure set out below. Entries must be submitted in accordance with the procedure described in these Official Rules and must be received prior to the close of the Prize Draw. Entrants must have access to the Internet in order to enter the Prize Draw. Entries received after 00:00GMT on 31 July 2025 or submitted by any other means will not be considered and will be automatically ignored.

The Prizes

10 winning Entrants (“Winners”) shall receive a prize each consisting of:

1 x £500 Airbnb coupon to be used on a booking in one of the following: Shipley (Saltaire), Halifax, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Haworth, Whitley Bay, Whitehaven, Clitheroe, Ramsbottom, Horbury, or Penistone, (the “Prize”).

There are 10 Prizes are available, being one coupon per town, which will be awarded to each of the 10 Winners.
The Prizes do not include any additional expenses, taxes, or disbursement of money and will be issued in coupon form only. No cash alternative is available.

Only the 10 Winners will be eligible for a Prize, subject to these Official Rules. No substitution or transfer of the right is permitted, nor will it be possible to convert the Prizes into cash.

The total value of the Prize is approximately £500 and is awarded in coupon form only in respect of the Airbnb booking.

In the event that the Promoter deems it appropriate to change the Prizes proposed, they will be replaced with other Prizes of equal value.

Suitability

The Prize Draw is open to Entrants who are already registered users of Airbnb aged 18 or over who are residents of the United Kingdom. If you are not a resident of the United Kingdom, you will not be eligible to participate in the Prize Draw.

Anyone who is in any of the following capacities is not eligible to participate in the Prize Draw: any director, officer, employee, independent consultant, advertiser, and agent, including those in subsidiaries or affiliates of Airbnb (collectively, “Released Parties”), as well as their immediate family members or household members (including, but not limited to, their spouse, partner, roommates, children, parents, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren).

In addition, Winners undertake to verify and comply with all laws, regulations and health and safety provisions to ensure the use of the Prizes.

How to Enter

To enter the Prize Draw you must have an active Airbnb account. If you don’t have one, you can create an account here. Once you have registered, follow the steps as set out below:

1. visit the page airbnb.com/unfollowthecrowd (“Site”);
2. click on the "Apply here" button;
3. accept these Official Rules; and
4. complete and submit the application form by providing the required personal and contact details and submitting your chosen destination (“Entry”).

Entrants can only apply once. Duplicate entries will be discounted. By submitting an Entry, the Entrant also declares that he/she is at least 18 years old at the time of registration and resides in the United Kingdom.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for:

(i) computer or network problems, with servers and email accounts;
(ii) failure to receive any Entries for any reason beyond their reasonable control; or
(iii) any other errors of any kind relating to the Prize Draw, whether mechanical, technical, network, printing, typographical, human or otherwise, including administrative errors or problems with the administration of the Prize Draw, the processing or revision of Entries or the announcement of the Winner.

If the Organisers become aware of any fraud, cheating or similar action taken in connection with the Prize Draw or otherwise, or of any act or omission likely to have an adverse effect on the Prize Draw or its reputation, they reserve the right, in their absolute discretion, without notice and/or reason, to exclude an Entrant from the Prize Draw.

Winner Selection

The Winners will be selected by random, drawn from all eligible Entrants. The decisions of the Organisers are final and binding.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Organisers may, at their discretion, conduct background checks and background checks based on the information provided and any other elements that may be deemed relevant to the Prize Draw entry.

Winners Notification / Announcement

The Winners will be selected by 4 August 2025 and will be notified by 7 August 2025 by email with the coupon to the email address associated with their Airbnb account and indicated in their Application.

How do the coupons work?
These coupons may be redeemed on Airbnb.com and expire on [XXX]. These coupons are single-use, meaning that you will not be entitled to use the same coupon on multiple bookings even if the value of the first booking is below the value of the coupon.
Coupons are not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash and may not be applied retroactively or combined with any other coupon or discount code for Airbnb. If you apply the coupon to a booking that you subsequently cancel, any refund owed will not include the coupon amount. You are solely responsible for the correct conservation of the coupon and Airbnb is not responsible if the coupon is lost, stolen, destroyed or used without your permission. Airbnb reserves the right and discretion to any remedy, including denial of the coupon or suspension of your account or bookings, if fraud, tampering, violations of Airbnb's Terms of Service, or technical errors are suspected.

Failure to comply with these terms and deadlines may result in, at the discretion of the Organisers, the exclusion of the Winner from the Prize Draw and the selection of another and different Winner for a Prize. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a Winner who has entered on their behalf, the Prize will be awarded to the authorised owner of the email account from which a Winning Entry was submitted, provided that such person meets all eligibility requirements. The Winner's name and/or country / region of residence may be published within thirty (30) days of the close of the Prize Draw, including through social media channels such as Instagram and X / Twitter.

Licences and Permits

By entering the Competition, the Entrants agree to be contacted by the Promoter and their respective agents or partners in relation to the Prize Draw and/or the Prize; agree to provide documents reasonably requested in support of their Entries, including signed releases, consent forms, and eligibility documents as requested; grant the Promoter the right to process their personal data in accordance with the Privacy Policy and any additional privacy terms applicable to the Prize Draw; agree to participate in any publicity subsequent to the Prize Draw and/or the Prize; agree to be filmed, photographed and otherwise recorded (including voice, image, appearance, performance, etc.) during the Prize Draw and the Prize, including recording any statements about the Prize Draw, the Prize, the Organisers and the activities, experiences and opinions of the Winners and their companions, such recordings may also be used by such Organisers for any promotional or other purposes on an ongoing basis throughout the world. The Winners will also have no rights to such materials.

General Disclaimer

Except as required by any applicable binding laws, the Prizes will take place as set forth in these Official Rules and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, are offered as is, without any express or implied warranties or conditions. This Prize Draw may be subject to binding local laws and regulations, including tax laws. The Winners are solely responsible for any taxes or contributions applicable to or resulting therefrom in their respective participation in the Prize.

By participating in the Prize Draw, the Entrants release the Promoter and Organisers from any liability whatsoever and waive, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any claim or action arising out of or in connection with the Prize Draw, its administration and/or redemption of the Prize (including any travel or activities related thereto). However, nothing in these Official Rules limits or excludes the liability of any individual or entity for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

Personal data

For the purposes of administering the Prize Draw, it is necessary to collect, review, and store the personal data of the Entrants (e.g., name and email address), in the event that they win. The submission of this personal data by Entrants to the Promoter is therefore necessary for the purpose of participation. If an Entrant does not provide this personal data for the Prize Draw, they will not be able to enter the Prize Draw or redeem the Prize. The purpose of processing personal data for the Prize Draw is to enable the Promoter to perform its performance and contractual obligations under these Official Rules. The Promoter may share personal data for the Prize Draw with its employees and third party suppliers for the purposes of administering the Prize Draw and the Prize, qualifying them from time to time as Data Processors for the same purposes.

You hereby acknowledge, agree and confirm that the purpose, nature, period and duration of any use of such personal data is necessary for the purposes of administering the Prize Draw and that such use is therefore a necessary condition of the Prize Draw. You further acknowledge that the Promoter and its contributors may, in their sole discretion, carry out background checks and/or background checks in order to ascertain or confirm your eligibility to enter the Prize Draw and, where applicable, to redeem the Prize.

In some circumstances, the Promoter may need to obtain additional personal data from you. In such circumstances, the Organisers or their partners will ask for your consent to the processing of such personal data in accordance with the applicable laws and, where necessary, to the sharing of the same with third-party providers.

General Provisions

Applicable law and jurisdiction

The Prize Draw and these Official Rules, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and participants can bring legal proceedings in respect of the promotion and these terms and conditions in the English courts. Entrants living in Scotland will also benefit from any mandatory provisions of Scottish law and can bring legal proceedings in respect of the promotion and these terms and conditions in either the Scottish or the English courts.

Cancellation, suspension, modification

You acknowledge that, subject to applicable law and any approval that may be required, the Promoter may cancel, suspend, modify or terminate the Prize Draw if they deem it necessary or appropriate for reasons or circumstances beyond their reasonable control. Such reasons or circumstances include, but are not limited to, fire, storm, flood, earthquake, explosion, war, invasion, rebellion, sabotage, epidemic, trade disputes, any act or threat of action that endangers air travel, and any act or omission (including law, regulation, disapproval or lack of approval) of any third party (including subcontractors, customers, governments, or government agencies). In addition, you waive and release the Released Parties from any claim or action arising out of, or related to, any such cancellation, suspension, modification or termination, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. No transfer, refund, redemption, substitution, cash equivalent or substitution of the Prize by any Entrant or Winner is also permitted.

If any provision or part of a provision of these Official Rules is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, it shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal, and enforceable. If such a modification is not possible, the relevant provision or part thereof shall be deemed to have been deleted. Any modification or deletion of any provision or part thereof under this clause shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remainder of these Official Rules. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Promoter may suspend, modify or terminate the Prize Draw if it believes, in its sole discretion, that a malfunction, error, disruption or damage is or will impair the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Prize Draw; in such event, the Winners will be selected from the eligible Entrants that have not been affected by the issue, where possible, or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by the Organisers.
