Great base for walking, cycling and exploring beautiful North Yorkshire.

With a private garden, on-site parking, and views over moor and dale, it’s perfect for couples or small families. Inside, enjoy a cosy living space with a log burner (logs provided), well-equipped kitchen, shower/wet room, and upstairs a king bedroom plus a walk-through space with twin bed (single futon chair bed and a single bed). The original Telephone Exchange is located in the picturesque village of Bishop Monkton. Now converted to a cosy holiday cottage situated between Harrogate and the cathedral city of Ripon. Nearby is Fountains Abbey, Lightwater Valley and Newby Hall. Blessed with open fields on 3 sides, which includes a lovely spot to sit outside and unwind or watch the sunsets. Swallow Cottage is a charming, secluded rural retreat set on a 19 acre estate within easy reach of Ripon and Harrogate. The cottage benefits from a fully enclosed decking area with furniture and a BBQ. There is a paddock behind the cottage which is perfect for exercising dogs or relaxing at the large table with a coffee, watching the wildlife. Inside there is a wood burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen with a coffee machine and a large bedroom, all with vaulted ceilings.

Thompson’s Cottage sits within the garden of our family home, with convenient parking available just next door at the village hall. This cosy, modern space features a bright open‑plan living area with a comfortable king‑size bed, seating for two, a well‑equipped compact kitchen with a pull‑out dining table, and a stylish bathroom with a large walk‑in shower. Sawley is a peaceful village within the Nidderdale AONB, offering a wonderfully central base for exploring the area.
