Welcome to your GEM by the Lake! This inviting space is part of a rustic, homey 1890 country home and provides everything you will need for a quiet get away. The backyard borders a scenic waterfront park & is a 4 minute stroll to the lake, marina, supervised swimming area, playground & walking trails. Perfectly situated to provide a peaceful base to explore downtown Ithaca, campus (15 mins) and all the Finger Lakes have to offer. A new platform sofa bed provides a comfortable 2nd sleeping area.

Sparrow Creek is located at the southern end of Cayuga Lake. Enjoy the back deck off the kitchen overlooking a wooded landscape and a meandering creek. The area is friendly and within 15 minutes to downtown Ithaca and surrounding areas. We have the essentials for an amazing Ithaca getaway being close to state parks, gorges, waterfalls, Cornell University, Ithaca College, downtown Commons, wine trails, year-round activities and attractions in the beautiful surrounding Finger Lakes region.

Your stay here will be relaxing and peaceful in a private and spacious suite with a private dock & kayaks. Located in Hector, you’ll be surrounded by wineries, breweries and farm to table dining. The bnb is located on the second level of unoccupied storage space but your entry requires just two steps as seen in the photos. The path to the lake is well lit a 60-90 second walk. I live between the bnb and the lake so I’m available at all times. Please read “The space” below for all the amenities.

There’s a giant porch wrapped around a 300-year oak tree and a lakeside tea house that can serve as an extra bedroom. There’s a dock, fire pit, room for yard games by the water, plenty of outdoor seating on the porch, by the lake, or on the dock. All of this is minutes from downtown Ithaca, Cornell, and Taughannock Falls state park. It’s also a great base to explore the Finger Lakes wine region.
