A steep climb, an hour up for the fit and 2 or more for those less so, this is a wonderful trek up to the Table Top. The path is all stepped and busy at peak times. A rewarding way to reach the top of Table Mountain and look over the splendour of Cape Town. At the top, there is a restaurant and bar. If you are tired, take the cable car down.

An incredible adventure. Climb table mountain yourself and then return via cable car - book your cable car ticket before your hike. A truly remarkable experience and a must for every person who visits this iconic mountain. Moderate difficulty.

Distance: about 3km up! Time: between 1hr for the super fit to 3hrs for the slow Rating: moderate to tough, depending on fitness and weather Children: older children yes, but it is demanding Dogs: not recommended, and not on the cableway Water: always take plenty of your own, especially in summer
