Great place for a snack and pint after a good walk, school road to the right of the Swan leads into a great walk into the Mendips.

Another great pub which is close enough to be reached by walking from The Nookery (about 40 mins) but we tend to drive, leave our car in the carpark, have lunch there and then go and explore the surrounding area. The walk to this pub does entail walking alongside a busy road. If you are using the pub the car park is free you just need to put your car Reg details into the machine in the pub. The Swan Inn is only a five minute walk away and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We love this pub - the food is good, if pricey, and they have a fantastic selection of local Butcombe beer, cider and wine, plus plenty of outdoor seating. Sanjida even held one of her book launches in the pub! We'd also recommend another Butcombe pub, The Langford Inn as we prefer the food there, although it's a longer walk (50 min approx) or a 5 min drive.
