Considered one of the most beautiful National Parks of Portugal, it is the site of the world-renowned Bussaco Palace, surrounded by formal gardens in the center of 250 acres of magnificent woods, planted by the Barefoot Carmelite monks in the 17th century. The exotic trees and species of rare flora were collected all over the world by Portuguese Navigators.

Stunning park and iconic Palace with gardens. Pop in for afternoon tea - this place is amazing but take care to visit when the weather is good as this will enhance your experience.

The Bussaco National Forest has an area of 105 hectares and has about 250 species of trees and shrubs. A source of natural, architectural and cultural heritage. I recommend a long walk through the gardens and a visit to the Convent of Santa Cruz do Bussaco ☘️ By bike or on foot it's free to explore. The Convent is 2€ p/person Guided Tours: 3,5€ p/person Free until 13y
