The Moose is Loose bakery is quite the icon around here! Inexpensive coffee, great little gift shop (all moose related) and the best donuts made fresh every day. Don't be alarmed about the long lines, it moves quickly. My recommendation is to get your goodies to go and then go across the street to Soldotna Creek Park and find a bench overlooking the river......enjoy every bite, and then walk the boardwalk to burn off a few of those delicious calories!!

Just South 3hrs from Anchorage. A nice drive to a popular fishing town in the summer.
