Kelso, 6 miles, set on the River Tweed has interesting and individual shops and eateries, an abbey, racecourse and ice rink. Excellent cycling, fishing and walking in the Eildon Hills, access to two 18 hole golf courses, with kids activities at Floors Castle, Harestanes, Thirlestane Castle nearby.

Situated on a working farm a mile from the town of Selkirk makes Highfield an ideal base to explore. Highfield commands an elevated position giving panoramic views of Selkirk and the surrounding hills. Situated on The Borders Abbey Way there is easy access to excellent walking and cycling routes. For the more adventurous we are a short drive to great mountain biking routes at Innerleithen and Peebles. Melrose & Tweedbank railway station is a 10 min drive, Edinburgh is just under an hour away.

Whitehill Cottage is the first of the buildings we’ve brought back to life as a rural retreat. We've restored this nearly 200 year old cottage sympathetically, retaining its rustic charm whilst offering a touch of luxury. We're dog friendly (well behaved dogs only, fees apply) and can accommodate up to four adults (not suitable for children or infants).

Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers who have their car. We can also accommodate a child / third person if required. We are in a fairly rural location, the nearest shops, bars and restaurants being approximately four miles away in the town of Kelso in the Scottish Borders.
