Cozy, Quiet, Private, Clean w/ FIBER INTERNET We are a farmhouse in the woods 4 miles from Thousand Hills State Park and 5 miles from Truman State University. While staying, you will feel like you are secluded amongst a forrest, yet you'll only be a 5-10 minute drive away from everything in town! The house was built in 2017 with modern finishes. The hottub is always hot and the oversized couches are always comfy. The neighborhood is family/wildlife oriented. Come unwind and relax in the sticks!

For a tiny house it has a spacious lower level with vaulted ceiling and upper bedroom loft. Wifi & smart TV. Nice warm heat and cool AC. Outdoor activity includes hammocks, swimming, boating (canoe, kayaks, john boat). For fishing we have boats, nets & fish-dressing station (bring poles & bait). About 13 miles from Palmyra and Monroe, nearest gas and groceries.

O’s Barn Cabin - Small Town Livin'!

O’s Barn Cabin offers a simple and unique way of relaxing in rustic fashion! Our pet friendly tiny home is 532 sq. ft of open space and country character. The location is out of the city, yet just a couple miles from all of the stores you need. The little cabin is nestled down our shared private and peaceful driveway, with views of cattle grazing in the pasture right off the front porch at the right time of year. Our big screen projector and fire pit are two amenities you'll be sure to enjoy!

Oakbrook Akers Lakeside Cabin Retreat

Located in the heart of the country, Oakbrook Akers Cabin is an absolute retreat! Relax on the many porches overlooking the pond, take time to meander to the docks to fish, enjoy s'mores over the stone fire pit or spend the evening at the grilling station in our covered patio. In the winter, tuck yourself away in the cozy cabin complete with a wood burner, having a movie or game night (with popcorn of course)! Built by my father, we hope you cherish your time spent here just as our family has.

Why not hide away at Woodland Fox? Spring is a lovely time on our peaceful 20 acres; only 3 mi off Hwy 63. The guest suite is ideal for multiple guests; 4 beds & 2 full baths. NO CLEANING FEE! You’ll have the entire lower-level to yourselves to enjoy the comforts of home. Sleep deep with comfy covers—oh, so clean—breakfast ingredients are supplied in fridge. To offset “no cleaning fee” $10 /guest per night--added for each guest after 3rd. (Closed for MARCH 2026 for my ankle surgery. Ouch!)

Come check out this tranquil getaway located within 10-15 miles of Kirksville, 1000 Hillls State Park, Truman State/ATSU, and hundreds of acres of public hunting/conservation land. This little cabin is a one bedroom, one bath tiny home that is located off the beaten path and is tucked away in the woods. The space comfortably sleeps four people (with ability to sleep 6 with a pull-out couch). Enjoy the relaxing sounds of nature by sitting around the fire pit or relaxing in the hammock.

Berti’s Nest

You won’t forget the peaceful surroundings of this rustic destination. Located between Shelbina and Shelbyville, Missouri, within one-fourth mile of Shelbina Lakeside Golf Course, Shelbina Lake with fishing, disc golf, walking trail, playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts. Our property offers catch and release fishing also. Shelbina also offers weekend movies at Hawkins Theatre and live productions on occasion. There is a public zero entry pool, in season, at the Aquatic Park.

Ranch Retreat- country stay, close to town

Immerse yourself in the country life at Schwieter Land and Livestock, surrounded by horses, blue skies and clean air. Follow the short gravel road, just outside Shelbina, to the ranch. There's room to spread out in the house, filled with old west charm and modern conveniences. Rest and relax during your stay indoors or step outside- to the deck, patio and yard of the ranch property where you'll be entertained by the animals roaming nearby and maybe catch a glimpse of a real cowboy.

Cozy little farm house

Cozy little farm house perfect for an in between stay or getaway located at the end of a blacktop road. The house sits amongst a small cattle farm with a nice view over a bottom field with abundant wildlife. This house is set up for the main purpose of lodging our seasonal guests who pursue wildlife and will reflect that within its decorations. There is a smart tv in the living room but there is currently no WiFi available here as we just use our hotspots on our phone.
