Small and understated beach community just south of Marina Del Rey. Ample street parking for an uncrowded day at the beach. The waves are soft and easy. Travel further south to El Segundo or Manhattan Beach for larger surf and more food options.

Don't eat at the pier, there is plenty to eat east towards the Santa Monica Promenade. Don't forget to check out the street performers along the way.

Playa Vista is brand new community with its own promenade, movie theaters, Whole Foods market, and fantastic restaurants. Take the Meto 110 bus there, so you can have cocktails. You must try ROC! It's the best Chinese restaurant in the city!
