It's a lovely urban hike about 5 mins walk from our house,,,,there are 84 stairs (count them!?) to the top of the road that enters the park,,great view from the top and great workout!! Lots of trails.

Mt. Doug : in the forest (about 35 mins to the top, a little longer if you hike up Little Mt. Doug as well-10 min drive from our house), park on the Blenskinsop Road side for the local route!

Gorgeous local trail, that starts up high and you walk down to sea level in about 20mins to a gorgeous inlet, you can swim here onsunny day. take one of the side trail and walk beside river/waterfalls

Food Scene
This is a great local place, with fresh baked goods and awesome coffee,,,it has an interesting view of the working part of the harbour and is fun to ride bikes too. There is limited parking.

The pub here is great for late afternoons, sunsets has a GREAT and sunny and scenic patio (has heaters too!) with a view of the inlet. Inside seats in the bar restaurant against the window also have views. Food is reasonably priced. There is a finer dining restaurant beside it in the same facility with similar views but no patio.

Inside seats in the bar restaurant against the window also have views. Food is reasonably priced. There is a finer dining restaurant beside it in the same facility with similar views but no patio.
This places is 4 minute drive from us...it is surprisingly cute inside despite it's terrible location:) They have seats outside which look appealing but the traffic going by is loud! The food is locally sourced, the owner's name is Cherry, it is very kid friendly. You can walk there from our house in about 20+ minutes along South Valley Drive.

The food is locally sourced, the owner's name is Cherry, it is very kid friendly. You can walk there from our house in about 20+ minutes along South Valley Drive.
This is a decent local sports bar/restaurant walking distance from our house,,if you would like to have a few drinks and not have to worry about who will drive home. This restaurant is owned and operated by some of the top chefs and restaurateurs in Victoria who live nearby. We haven't been there in a while but our guests have liked it. It has many tv screens to watch sports so not the most romantic place;)!

This restaurant is owned and operated by some of the top chefs and restaurateurs in Victoria who live nearby. We haven't been there in a while but our guests have liked it. It has many tv screens to watch sports so not the most romantic place;)!
This is the oldest pub in British Columbia founded in 1848:) it has a reputation in recent years for having really good locally grown food with an excellent chef. The history of the building and the site is very interesting!
