Drinks & Nightlife

Try some pulque here. It's a traditional Mexican alcoholic beverage that ferments in your stomach thus getting you more drunk. Personally I hate it but you got to try it while you are here.

Enjoy a drink and some nice food from here. There is also a few more more bars on this street ranging from cheap punky places to the more expensive El Depotisto on the corner of Isabela de Catolica with its range of imported beers.

They have mead, which is cool, cause the only other place I ever tried this was in England. Basically it is honey wine. They also have more alcohol, food and live music.

My local taqueria. Great tacos here, either pastor, marinated pork, or tacos de cabeza, cow head. If you ain't tried cow head before its a bit weird at first but you get used to them. Cow tongue is the healthy steamed option.

A mexican chain but they do have for around a hundred peso a plate of taco de pastor which are great. Ask for the "volcán de pastor" or something like that.

Famous and popular, but I do not recommend this place anymore. The quality of food has gone down, but not the prices; though at 2am on a Monday there usually ain’t nothing else open nearby.

Diego Rivera's, Frida Kahlo's husband, old studio now houses some of his collection of pre-hispanic pieces in a pyramid made of black volcanic stone. While a seperate building houses an exhibition relating to his infamous piece commissioned and later rejected by the Rockefellers in NY. He also has many murals in various paces around Mexico City if your interested such as Bellas Artes and the Zocolo.

Entertainment & Activities

Go see the national university, the UNAM Pumas, football or soccer as the Americans call it, team play here, mainly on Sundays at midday. Owned by the university so much better to support them than Club America, one of the cities other teams, who are owned by some crass media billionaire.
