This is our number one choice for a great meal and views to die for across a tranquil harbour. The sunsets across the water are stunning. The menu caters for every taste and we love it here. You won't be disappointed.

Home to North Island Brown Kiwi when 15 years ago there were only 8 birds here, but now there are estimated to be over 350 thanks to the Whakatane Kiwi trust volunteers who look after this national icon. Whakatane claims to be the kiwi capital of the world, not because it has more kiwis but because it is unique in that it is the only township in New Zealand that has kiwis literally on their doorstep.

One of Whakatane's 3 native reserves that edge the town. The view from the Kohi Point car park has to be one of the best in Whakatane. You overlook the township and have views out to sea where Whale Island and White Island can be clearly seen. Looking north you see a sweep of beaches towards Tauranga in the north.
