Gulam Rasul opens 24 hours and is really famous for their nasi kandar and fresh deep fried chicken with curry leaves. And if rice is not what you’re seeking, they sell various rotis and fried mamak noodles as well. Furthermore, Gulam Rasul is situated at a very strategic location, along the main road of Jalan Changkat Jong before you reach town. Although Gulam Rasul draws the lion share of the nasi kandar loving crowd, Nasi Kandar Changkat Jong holds a much closer place in the hearts of the local folks when it comes to the most popular nasi kandar joint. The drawback? They only open for lunch, and their signature fried chicken served with a handful of fritters finishes relatively early.

Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun is a oddity. This steamed rice noodles lacks the firmness of Penang's but is not as starchily soft as Taiping's. In short, imagine a softer texture Hong Kong CCF with the filling not at one side but cooked and rolled in together with the noodles This king of CCF is Liew Kee which operates from a single storey house from the old quarters of the town. The good thing about Liew Kee's is that they make their CCF fresh! The not so good thing is that they operate in the evenings only. So if you are in Teluk Intan during the day time you will most likely miss the freshly made ones.

The ‘heong peah’ or fragrant biscuit’s rise to ubiquity led to the opening of many businesses. The Tiger Head brand in Teluk Intan is one, and it has gone from strength to strength even as others fall by the wayside The Tiger Head brand is a family-run business and was established in 1962. It used to include pork lard as one of the ingredients but has since stopped using that to appeal to the "halal" market. It received "halal" certification three years ago. This brand has expanded to Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur and Penang. If you are staying in these cities, you do not have to purposely travel to Teluk Intan to buy the "Heong Peah" anymore.
