Neighbourhoods

Bathwick is an unspoilt residential neighbourhood on the East side of Central Bath. For me Bathwick centres around Sydney Gardens and The Holburne Museum (where you can get a cake, play tennis, enjoy a newly developed C children's playground). The architecture in this area is just beautiful which is the main reason we concentrated our house search here when we moved to Bath. You never get bored of the walk in to town.

Bathwick Hill runs parallel to Sydney Gardens and is a quick dog-leg along the tow path to access Sydney Gardens and The Holburne Museum. Further up Bathwick Hill you reach the University of Bath Main Campus and then The American Museum (a great day out with wonderful grounds - they put on great seasonal events too). Opposite our house, accessed from Darlington Place, is the expansive National Trust owned Bathwick Fields. You can start the Bath Skyline Walk here (a 6 mile walking loop around Bath with breathtaking views). The first time I walked in Bathwick Fields, I took a panoramic photo across the city. And the second and third time. You can't help but do this - it's hard to believe how much of the city you can see from here.
