Its a must see place - the most beautiful restaurant in the area. The food is on the expensive side so as a local I sit in the bar area and order a quesadilla or other appetizer and a beverage. You must make reservations in the winter - this place is POPULAR for a reason.

Stables at the golf resort is a local favorite. I enjoy sitting on the back patio and watching golfers and enjoying the beautiful vista of the Santa Rita Mountains. Pop in during the day but make a reservation if you are going to for dinner. Its very popular. They have live music Friday and Saturday - usually!

You can get a cappuccino here! Thats news as we went without the first 10 years I lived here. They also make healthy smoothies and homemade bakery. As a cyclist I often drop in here for conversation and coffee.

The Tubac Market has breakfast, lunch, and nightly specials to eat in or take out. In addition they have essential groceries, and a large selection of beer and wine. We all try to support our local market.

This is a true family restaurant - 3 generations of the Wisdom family. Its busy and you put your name on a list during the busy tourist season. Also it closes early - so get there before 7. They have an outdoor patio and a classic eclectic interior. Good Mexican-American family food.

The Pool

I am a member of the golf resort and that gives member entry to the pool so bring your suit. I dont mention this on the listing as AIRBNBs get a frown from some locals who look for any reason to complain. The pool is beautiful and has a hot tub, private cabanas, and bathrooms.

Tubac Village

There are two parts to Tubac Village - old town which is basically Burruel Street and to the East. This is the oldest European settlement in Arizona so look around! Beautiful old houses and mini ranches and a State Park - the Tubac Presidio. The front part of Tubac dates from perhaps the 1940s and later. It has the bulk of the shops and restaurants. For a town of 1500 or so we have PLENTY of shopping. And if one shop is closed, another one will be open. My favorite shops are Tubac Art and Gifts (as my art and my husbands are is displayed there - Peter Chope and Sandra Baenen Chope).

The Tubac Golf Resort

Even if you dont golf, dont miss visiting the Golf Resort - it is so beautiful. Originally it was a Spanish Land Grant to the Otero Family - that old cemetery you see is just for the Otero Family and is probably 230 years old now). In 1959 Bing Crosby, John Wayne, Stewart Granger and friends hung out in the Stables Bar. You will see a photo of John Wayne there. Also the movie Tin Cup was filmed here.
