Beautiful parkland and gardens designed by capability Brown. The house is very grand with many works of art and sculpture, there is often a sculpture display in the grounds. it is a lovely place for walks, for picnics on nice days there is a an adventure playground for children and a farm to look at , a very good day out ,just too much to see!

This is my favourite historic house in the neighbourhood. Full of fascinating history ,has been used in various films including "Jane Eyre" . They have a good cafe and it is near to Bakewell which is a nice market town worth a visit and famous for it's Bakewell tarts.
