The Lost Village of El Acebuchal is a beautiful quaint whitewashed hamlet hidden in the heart of the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park. It is situated just under 4 miles from Casa Reina and makes for a wonderful walk or cycle ride with breathtaking views of the mountains. Once you arrive at the lost village you will find 2 bars - the El Acebuchal Restaurant, famous for their mouthwatering homemade bread and The Lost Village B&B where wonderful, friendly hosts Virginia & Luc will always welcome you in for tapas or a well deserved beverage!

Bioparc Fuengirola is just over 1 hours drive from Casa Reina and is a wonderful animal park which is dedicated to the conservation of endangered species and provides an environment which is similar to their natural habitats.
They are open every day of the year from 10am and tickets can either be purchased at least 24 hours in advance online or on the day at the ticket office

s/n C. MuerdagoButterfly park in Benalmadena is set in a lovely tranquil Thai temple and is home to over 1500 exotic butterflies from around the world that fly freely between waterfalls and flowers.
Open Monday - Sunday 10am - 8.30pm.

The cable cars at Benalmadena are a must visit, we highly recommend them. The 15 minute journey up to the top of Mount Calamorro is great fun and offers spectacular views down to the coast.
When up at the top there’s a hiking route, little gift and drinks cabins, a cafe and a falconry demonstration.
If you want to take lunch with you there is a picnic seating area.
We recommend that you book your tickets online as the queues at the ticket office can get quite busy in peak season.

The balcon de europa offers a breathtaking view in Nerja of the sea and the mountains and is a popular spot for photos!
Nerja is one of the prettiest coastal towns in the Costa del sol and we highly recommend you head over there, it’s less than a 30 minute drive from Casa Reina.
Parking can be challenging but if you need to the balcon de europa car park you should be able to find a spot, the pretty central streets of Nerja are just around the corner.
We highly recommend visiting “Cochran’s” bar whilst you’re in the balcon de europa area for a cocktail and lunch on their terrace which overlooks the sea.

The balcon de europa offers a breathtaking view in Nerja of the sea and the mountains and is a popular spot for photos!

Puerto Deportivo Marina Del Este
Marina del Este is only around 40 minutes drive from Casa Reina and is a quaint, pretty small marina with a selection of great bars and restaurants, you can hire your own boat from here or go on a boat trip (book in advance to avoid disappointment, we have our our recommendation of Alboran Charters who are located at this marina).
The marina has a very exclusive, hidden gem vibe and we love spending the afternoon here.
If you’re wanting a bit of adrenaline head over to Sunview Park for the longest zip line in Andalusia. With 1,350 meters of travel and speeds of up to 100 mph it makes for a fun fuelled adventure!
There’s also a restaurant on-site offering the best views of Malaga.
It’s just over 1 hours drive from Casa Reina and not too far from other fun activities so you really can make a day of it.
The zip line is open Wednesdays to Sundays.

Magon is definitely a must visit if you like a good steak, you can dine inside the restaurant or on the terrace where you will enjoy beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea

O’Learys Irish bar is located on the promenade at Torrox Costa, up towards the lighthouse (El Faro) and is a fantastic spot to relax with a Guinness, cocktail or fruit juice. They do the best burgers in town and their nachos are genuinely the best you will ever try! They have live music every Friday and Saturday night too which provides a fun atmosphere, they get pretty busy so it is advisable to book your table for live music nights.

The pavo real is a no frills bar on the main road from Torrox to Competa offering lovely homemade meals to eat in or take away, they also have a pool table and a darts board. It is within walking distance of Casa Reina, around 0.5 miles away.
Head to the main road and then left towards Torrox and keep walking for around 10 minutes.
