Young and Old alike will love this miniature golf course. It is Epic Fun!!!! The Papas brothers own and operate Parkside’s Whispering Pines Miniature Golf, recently renovated in 2012, located right next door. The miniature golf is a seasonal operation and is open throughout the spring, summer and fall. Parkside’s Whispering Pines is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the oldest miniature golf course in the United States, having opened in 1930. The course was built from fossil stone purchased from out west during the Miniature Golf boom. The course has a very unique design, which has entertained generations for decades. Stop by for some fun and putt 18 holes while getting a glimpse of history. https://parksidediner.com/miniature-golf/#

We enjoy breakfast and brunch here several times a month. The food is rediculously good!! If you can't find something on the menu that you want, you just aren't even close to hungry: they have something for everyone. The waitstaff have all been there for years and years and it's been under the same consistent ownership forever it seems which attests to how great it is even in that aspect. All locals know about this place: we always see several of our freiend there each time. Feels like home and super clean. http://parksidediner.com/

This historic building has been a single family home, a leg of The Underground Railroad, Old Inn, pub and restaurant and is very nearby Castilla Esperanza: claimed by locals for decades and the current waitstaff to be haunted! The Union Tavern, formerly the Reunion Inn, is located in the beautiful historic Sea Breeze neighborhood. Reopened after it was The Reunion Inn, in June of 2019, this New England style tavern features delicious food, cold drinks and a warm and welcoming atmosphere! The menu consists of delicious appetizers, handhelds, hearty comfort food and home-style entrees. Cocktails are a delightful mix of classic and creative, something old and something new. There is a large variety of beer, wine and cider featuring some of our local favorites! Again we frequent this spot and always see friends that loive near us, but so does everyone else since it's THAT GOOD and so close to the water, so try to call for a reservation if possible https://www.uniontavernseabreeze.com/about

Best beach bar in Rochester

This establishment offers bar food and also has live music on weekends. It is just 4 doors down from Casa Esperanza-Home of hope. For over 60 years patrons have lifted their spirits, and their glasses, at Marge’s Lakeside Inn located in Rochester, NY. During the Prohibition Era, property owner George Magin ran it as a speakeasy where he would make Scofflaw cocktails with liquor bootlegged from Canada and serve beer he brewed in his basement. Prohibition eventually ended, but the fun carried on as “Magin’s” was one of the first establishments in Monroe County to obtain a liquor license. On October 1, 1960, Marge Beth, a hardworking woman with a lifetime’s experience in the bar business bought the tavern now known as Marge’s Lakeside Inn. Marge and her son Ron treated customers to cool cocktails and homey hospitality while Marge’s other son, Gerry, entertained patrons by playing the piano. As a family they anchored Marge’s reputation as the best watering hole on Rochester’s waterside. In 1975, Ron Beth took over the business from Marge. Ron, always living life to the fullest, poured his heart and soul into the bar and despite complications from cancer, was the life of the party until the end of his own in 1986. Now, Ron’s wife Fran and daughter Francine carry on the Marge’s tradition of fun in the sun and good times all year round. Fran, (often mistakenly referred to as “Marge” by those not familiar with the tavern’s history) can be seen proofing visitors at the door and, on occasion, heard belting out a Patsy Cline tune at the top of her lungs.
