Take the right and you will come to the entrance of the woods with a granite post and a sign about bees.

You can access the beginning of the Coast to Coast trail (walking, biking or riding track), which is part of the Unesco Mining trails, from opposite the Primary School. Turn left out of the property and take the left fork downhill at the end of the road towards the school. Cross the road and turn right then first left and the start of the trail is about 15 m on your right. You will see the gate and granite post.

Its got all the facilities you need to a shop with has some Coop items, great pub with excellent seafood, superfood salads, burgers and alike with garden and terrace. Funky cafes next to the beach with a surf shop. Great coastal walks directly from the beach only a few minutes walk from the house. Its safe and comfortable with limited traffic. Great surf around mid tide and lifeguard service in the summer. The little river through the beach is fun for little ones with an ice cream hut next to the beach on the car park. local gardens and play park on the other side of the village, 5 minute walk from the house.

You can surf on good swell days, tucked away from the Westerly winds. The wave on the left and middle is usually good for short and long boarding and on the right, from the pier, is the famous bodyboarding break.
On a flat/calm day you can SUP or kayak around the coastline (left or right from looking at the beach) and discover other beaches and caves. SUP's and Kayaks can be hired by the hour from HQ Surf shop, which is next to the carpark, next to the beach. Dave has a number of SUP's and single and double kayaks. Check out www.cornwallsurfcentre.co.uk for prizes, ranging from SUP hire £10 for 3 hours, Kayaks from £10 ph to day rates of SUP hire £15 pd to Kayak hire from £50 pd.

Public can visit the Gwel an Mor facilities including a soft play and climbing centre, swimming pool and small farm. It is within walking distance from the house, although up hill on the way there or you can drive for 2 minutes up the hill.
There is a park and gardens in the village as well as the beach on a level walk of 5 minutes from the house, which is lifeguarded.
The Bissoe cycling trail runs from the village opposite to the primary school all the way to Devoran on the south coast.
The 'Track' is a bike track for BMX bikes and mountain bikes outside the village.

Coast to Coast Trail (cycling, running, walking)
Coast to Coast Cycle trail - Bring or hire your bikes to follow the level Bike trail from the North coast, starting in Portreath to the South coast, ending in Devoran. Gorgeous purpose built bike trails through the centre of Cornwall following mining trails for 11 miles (shorter tracks linked are also available).
Access the beginning of the bike trail from opposite the primary school, following the granite signs. Search 'Mineral tramways - Coast to Coast Trail, Portreath to Devoran'.
Bikes can be hired on your way from Portreath to Porthtowan at Elm Farm Cycle Centre at Cambrose.
