A gorgeous building with beautiful architecture with much Italian influence. Only accessible by tour. Check FB for times and to make reservations. English tours avail. If you are lucky enough, you may get to see a performance of some type. During the theatre season 30 minute performances are given during the lunch hour. Allows locals to enjoy and experience culture during their lunch hour. Usually 2000 colones admission fee. About $3.50 There is a lovely restaurant inside that has a great menu for lunch and/or coffee.

This museum has one of the best jade collections in Costa Rica and Central America. It is magnificent! The whole building was designed to look like a piece of jade ¨in the raw¨, by a young Costa Rican architect Diego van der Laat.
