Food Scene

Jumilhac- le- Grand is less than 10 minutes away and has a wonderful chateau in the centre of the village. The large square to the front of the chateau has seating in the summer for the adjacent restaurant. Not only can you eat lunch or supper with a wonderful view of the chateau, children can play on the square rather than be confined to sitting at the table for the whole meal. Much more relaxing for everyone!

There are several nice restuarants to enjoy lunch or dinner, or just a drink or an ice-cream whilst relaxing on the square.

Perigueux is the capital of the Perigord and has both Roman remains, plus a medieval centre with lots of small, independent shops within the narrow streets. The remains of a Roman villa are completely under cover, with interesting artefacts and mosaics to see. This, plus the variety of shops, restaurants and regular markets make it a good place to spend the day.
