Taxis from the airport
Be very careful with the prices from and to the international Phuket airport as some companies will try to make you pay a lot of money for a short-distance trip (it shouldn't be more than 1,500 THB).
If you are unsure about the prices, you can book a private driver with us. Prices are as below (for our main properties in Karon):
Three people or less: 1000THB
3-5 people: 1,200THB

Please, make sure you respect the local traditions and customs by not showing too much of your body parts even after a hot day spent at the beach. Please be aware that if you wander shirtless or topless in Thailand, you will be labelled a "disrespectful" tourist. Thankfully, Phuket and Thailand's other islands are considerably more tolerant than Thailand's rural cities.

Renting a motorbike
Getting around the island can be quite a nightmare if you do not have your own way of transportation. We recommend you rent a motorbike (or a car) directly from the airport. This way, you will be more independent and will be able to spend more time in different spots without waiting for a tuk-tuk or taxi.

Get the app "Grab"
Grab is the equivalent of "Uber" in Asia. It is a very useful price that will give you local prices for taxi drivers.
You can also order food on the app and make it deliver to you for a very competitive price.
Please note that wherever you are in Thailand, you will always have a Grab driver available for you :)

Local Thai people have a very respectful traditional way of living. Learn to say the very basic sentences such as "hello" and "thank you" that will make them pleased to see foreigners learning their language.

Avoid Tuk-Tuks and other dodgy activities
If you wish to go somewhere in Phuket, you can always use the app "Grab" on your phone. Do not say yes to local Thai people who try to get you to their friend's shop (especially with Tuk-Tuk drivers who will leave you alone after you buy some weird suits in their shop). Jet skis activities are also not recommended.
