Chef proprietor Graham Cuthbertson uses the best that local producers have to offer, with flair and imagination, to create dishes with inspired flavour and texture combinations. The decor is simply black and white with artwork on the walls from Steve Slimm (Penzance, Cornwall) that is both bold and contemplative. The white linen tablecloths give an air of fine dining but we don’t want any diners to be put off by this as we welcome all and first and foremost want our guests to feel comfortable and relaxed. As well as food and drink sourced locally we have supported local artisanal glass maker Jo Downs, who is based in Launceston, east Cornwall, by having a bespoke handmade mirror and soap arc designed for the ladies’ toilets. Dinner service is reservation only between 6.30 and 8.30 pm Wednesday to Saturday

A short drive from us along windy roads or you can walk it. Fantastic views on a clear day. This large wetland complex extends across more than 500 acres, spreading from the slopes of Helman Tor, and it is one of the wildlife gems of Cornwall. Centuries of tin streaming here has created a landscape of hummocks and hollows, host to a patchwork of wildlife rich habitats including wet and dry heathland, acid grassland, large areas of willow and oak woodland and numerous ponds. Directions The reserve is 2.5 miles (4 km) south of Bodmin, 2 miles to the north west of Lostwithiel. The nearest main line station is Bodmin Parkway. By car, access is from the A30/A391 (Innis Downs) roundabout south of Bodmin. Turn north to Lanivet and take the first right under A30 bridge. Take the first left shortly after the bridge. For Breney Common entrance, turn right at Reperry Cross and take the left fork to Trebell Green. Go straight on at Trebell Green towards Gunwen. The entrance track is on the left after Gunwen Chapel, opposite The Barn (SX 054 610). For Red Moor, turn right towards Fenton Pits. Continue for 1.5 miles and turn right for Tredinnickpits. Access to the reserve is via a track leading off a triangle formed by the roads in Tredinnickpits (SX 075 622). The reserve may also be reached from Helman Tor along the Saints' Way (SX 065 611). for more information visit :- https://www.visitcornwall.com/things-to-do/activities/south-coast/lostwithiel/helman-tor-nature-reserve

Mousehole is a picturesque fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall between Penzance and Land’s End. It was sacked by the Spaniards in July 1595 when the entire village, apart from one house, was burnt to the ground. That house still stands today. A hundred years ago Mousehole was a bustling port, crowded with local fishing boats, landing pilchards. Each year, early in November, timber beams are laid across the narrow harbour entrance, to protect the village from the worst of the winter gales. Even so waves can still be seen breaking over the harbour wall at high tide. For more information visit : https://www.cornwalls.co.uk/mousehole

Mevagissey is an attractive old town which was once the centre of Cornwall’s pilchard fishery and which still boasts a working harbour, with a few dozen small fishing boats. It has a tradition of boat building dating back to 1745. Many of the old buildings, constructed of cob and slate, bear testimony to a time when the large shoals of pilchards were the livelihood of the whole village. Fishing trips can be taken from the harbour and there is a ferry to the nearby port of Fowey. There is a car park on the quay but the narrow streets can be difficult to negotiate and are often full of pedestrians. Best to park in the first carpark you come to which is on the left handside before you enter Mevagissey

Port Isaac has been an attractive fishing village since the early fourteenth century. Its narrow, winding streets are lined with old white-washed cottages and traditional granite, slate-fronted Cornish houses, many of which are listed as of architectural or historic importance. The roads are narrow so best to park in the main carpark just outside the village and take the coastal path round to Port Isaac. If you are a Doc Martin fan, then you will recognise a number of places from the series.

The pretty village of St.Mawes looks out over the River Fal towards Falmouth. The old fishing port boasts steep and narrow streets rising from the harbour. Today it is a popular place for retirement and holiday homes and boasts an abundance of smart houses in addition to the traditional cob cottages. In recent years, St Mawes has become a popular tourist destination with good restaurants, attractive shops and a number of galleries. There are two very good beaches on either side of the St Mawes harbour. They are safe for swimming and ideal for sunbathing. for more information please visit : https://www.cornwalls.co.uk/st-mawes

Head down the hill from Sennen and it’s not long before your view is full of sea and sunshine. Some days huge blue rollers head towards the shore making Sennen Cornwall’s most westerly surf hotspot, other days the tides out and the wide golden sands provide plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. The small harbour with its lifeboat station and art galleries is great for those days when the sun is in hiding. Address : Sennen Cove Beach Sennen St Just Cornwall TR19 7DG

Porthcurno was once an important place on the map. With a reputation as one of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall Constantine Bay beach offers a sweeping arc of gently shelving soft pale sands. This west-facing beach also has numerous rock pools to explore and is very popular for swimming and surfing. The water quality is routinely tested and currently approved by DEFRA Constantine Bay is separated from its neighbour, Booby's Bay, to the north, by a thin rocky point; bordered by a large rocky reef to the south and backed by a network of sand dunes. Good marine wildlife

Porthpean is probably the best of St Austell's beaches, although a little on the small side. Backed by steep tree-topped cliffs and with clear, azure water this sandy beach can have a feel of the Mediterranean on the right day. Being relatively sheltered and easy to get to Porthpean beach is popular with families. During the summer there is a cafe and shop on the beach and also toilets. Despite its popularity there are no lifeguards on duty here, although swimming is generally considered safe.

The only city in Cornwall, although Bodmin is still nominally the county town. Truro’s most striking feature is the Cathedral, with its green spire and gothic appearance. Built at the turn of the century it dominates the Truro skyline with its 250 foot high towers and has some interesting Victorian stained glass windows. The south aisle of the cathedral is what remains of St Mary’s Church, said to be one of the finest pieces of medieval architecture in Cornwall. Its decorative style contrasts with the simplicity of the new part of the cathedral. here you will find the major chain stores as well as individual shops. for more information visit :- https://www.cornwalls.co.uk/truro

This 12km cycle trail explores the slopes of the Cardinham Valley and as the name suggests, it calls for more than a little skill and courage. Setting the benchmark for singletrack trails in Cornwall the Bodmin Beast has keen mountain bikers and experienced off-roaders in its sights and those up to the challenge will face exhilarating climbs and descents, exciting technical tests and exposed snaking trails. But fear not, for those that like to take things at a more leisurely pace Cardinham Woods also offers plenty of less strenuous trails and of course, there’s always the tempting Woods Café. for more information visit :- https://www.visitcornwall.com/about-cornwall/cycle-trails
