Sightseeing

Miserden Gardens and Nursery Traditional English garden, with pretty garden café. You can walk (about an hour) or drive 6 minutes. Easy parking. The village also has a pub and Post Office/shop so is handy for last minute shopping and you can get cash from the Post Office.

Tetbury (14 Miles) Market town and home to HRH Prince Charles. Tetbury has a very eclectic mix of shops, from unbelievably high end design and architectural antiques (marvel at both the quality and the prices!) to a useful Tesco. Domestic Science is a good place to shop for presents and we love Blue Zucchini café. It has a quirky vibe, welcomes cyclists and the brunch is very good. Tetbury also has a Highgrove shop if you want Royal accessories.

Food scene

This area has a huge selection of places to eat...from street food to high end dining, you will find it within 20 minutes of us. Some ideas Sam and Jak Cirencester Nice vibe Knead bakery at Elksone. Excellent patisserie and brunch The Painswick Terrific
Cirencester Old Roman Town (Corinium) 7 miles. Good Museum and interesting shops. All major supermarkets and banks. Lots of cafes and places to eat. Brunch at Made by Bob is very good, The Bear is a nice place to hang out for coffee/drinks and they do good food. Both are in the Market Place. The Parish church is old and beautiful. Walk up the pedestrian Black Jack Street and enjoy boutique shops or stop at Cote for something to eat (worth calling ahead in case you need to book). Eat in fish and Chips at Malt and Anchor or good value take away from Watermoor Fish and Chips.

Cheltenham 8 miles Pretty Regency town. Very good shopping and good choice of bars and places to eat. Cheltenham gets busy, so strongly suggest making a reservation if going for dinner. We particularly like these places: • Koj (Japanese, not sushi) • The Ivy Brasserie (very stylish, terrific décor) • Coconut Tree (Sri Lankan) • Spice Exchange (take away curry) • Wagamama • Fat Toni (take away pizza) 131 • Cote • Yo Sushi

Painswick 8 miles. Interesting small town and a bit of a foodie centre. Roccoco Garden and some nice pubs (The Falcon is good). The Painswick Hotel is the nicest place to eat. It is expensive but has a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The parking is awkward!
