The Birgitta Trail is a trekking route that offers the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the nature and cultural history in Lempäälä. It is possible to choose the route and the lenght of the trail. The route was officially opened in 1997, and it was selected the best trekking route in Finland in 2006. The route was named after the noble landmark of Lempäälä, the 500-year-old St Birgit Memorial Church of Lempäälä.

The Saarikonmäki laavu lean-to There is a campfire site with firewood and an outside toilet at the Saarikonmäki laavu. The laavu is accessible for the disabled. This leg of the route is ideal for families. The road to Saarikonmäki is surrounded by the best hazel bushes in Lempäälä. Dozens of hazel bushes, large and small, grow among the spruces. For different types of groups, such as small children or disabled, it is more comfortable to arrive at lean-to by car. Please note, that if you wish to do so, there is a closed gate on the forest road. You will need a key to open the gate, instructions for borrowing the key are below. Key available: -during working days (Mon-Fri) from Lempäälä Service Point Tampereentie 8, tel. +358 40 133 7300, open from 9 am to 3.30 pm. (Please note that Service Point is closed during July, and you can ask key in tel: +358 50 383 9068.)

The Lempäälä canal is located in the centre of Lempäälä, and it was built between 1867-1874. Finland's first contemporary timber rafting and regulatory canal was renovated to its current form around 50 years ago. The canal that connects Pyhäjärvi and Vanajavesi lakes is 1,275 metres long and its locks are used up to 3000 times a year. The canal is operated on the principale of self-service. Besides Silverline's boats, there are numerous leisure boats sailing in the popular inland water route.

Myllyranta park is an event area, where associations and residents alike can arrange public events during the summer. The park is situated next the Pyhäjärvi lake, near the St. Birgit Memorial Church. In the park you can find ice cream kiosk, play mini golf or take a nice picnic with your friends.

The church was named after its patron saint, Saint Birgit. The only female saint in the Nordic countries, the Swedish Birgit, daughter of Birger, lived in the 14th century. The church has been modified and expanded, for example during the 1830s, when its base was expanded to the current crucifix form and the beautiful four-leaf clover windows were installed. The bell tower standing next to the church has served as a museum of ecclesiastical objects. The church is open during the summer on weekdays from 10 am to 4 pm.

Särkänniemi has five, 6th under construction rollercoasters: inverted coaster Tornado, flying coaster Trombi, MotoGee, Half Pipe and Hype, a launched steel coaster Sky Rocket II opening in summer 2017, and family coaster Vauhtimato ("Whirly Worm"). Särkänniemi is owned by the city of Tampere and attracts about 1,100,000 visitors per annum. Särkänniemi has been voted several times as the best leisure center and the greatest amusement park in Finland.
