East Inlet trail, or Adams Falls, is a .8 mi moderately trafficked trail. It is rated Easy and features a waterfall with viewing area. Great spot for a picnic. Many times there are rangers on the trail who are always willing to answer questions about the area and wildlife. This trail is good for all experience levels with many places to pause along the trail. The further you go on the trail the more difficult it becomes, the whole trail is 10.5 mi out & back and rated moderate to difficult. Keep an eye out for moose on or near the trail early in the morning or around dusk.
Pro tips:
•Keep going up the stairs once you reach the falls. After a short climb you will find a great picnic area and swimming hole - if you dare (it's freezing!).
•Don't only stop at the falls, keep going along the trail another .25 mi or so to reach the valley.

The perfect trail for families in RMNP! This flat, easy trail ends at the Holzwarth Historic Site. Enjoy the preserved settlement and interact with park volunteers and rangers. Kids love the informational signs along the way. The trail intersects with the Colorado River in a couple places, great for picnics.

"The Colorado River Trailhead is the access point for many trails in the northwest corner of Rocky Mountain National Park.
From this location, park visitors can explore a variety of trails. For a simple excursion, hike 0.5 miles to find the Colorado River. This point marks the start of its journey through the Kawnueeche Valley. Visitors interested in the history of the area can hike the 3.7 mile trail to the site of Lulu City. This location was a hopeful mining town in the 1880’s. Other popular sites include the Grand Ditch and Little Yellowstone. It is common to find wildlife such as elk, moose, coyotes, and foxes on the way to these destinations. Remember to keep your distance from wildlife. Never approach or feed wildlife."

In the early 1900s Monarch Lake was built to store logs before they were transported to a nearby sawmill via flumes and rivers. The trail loops around the lake (4 mi, moderate), giving you access to virtually all the pristine shoreline. Monarch Lake is kept at a constant level so that visitors can enjoy non-motorized activities. trail and lake are dog-friendly. Moose are often spotted in the area. The trail is the starting point for Lone Eagle Peak (14 mi roundtrip, moderate to difficult, best for overnights)
