A few places that I enjoy for coffee and/or breakfast
Great coffee, and light breakfast and lunch options. My favorite is their Salmon Stack (smoked salmon, cream cheese, cucumber, etc - on a bagel).

A quick drive will get you to this fantastic spot. Another great coffee shop, but they also have a larger breakfast selection and great salads and sandwiches. It can get VERY busy on weekends, so be prepared to stand in line if you go during popular breakfast/lunch hours!

I love the breakfast crepe with eggs, cheese, salsa, and I always add chorizo!

This place is a Nashville landmark. Great pancakes, but be prepared to wait in line! If you can get there before 7:45, you can usually avoid a long wait. However, there are some great coffee shops (Fido) a block away, so you can sip a latte while you wait!

This is our go to for a full breakfast. It's not fancy, but they do have delicious pancakes, biscuits, omelettes, etc at affordable prices! You're going to get the best bang for your buck here.

Yeast Nashville has kolaches. I was unaware of these delicious morsels until I happened to visit this place, and now I can't get enough of them! They have both sweet and savory... sausage with cheese wrapped in a delicious homemade bread, or danish style with cream cheese, apple, berry, etc. They also have fantastic cinnamon rolls. The coffee is brewed a little dark for my taste, but the lattes are great!

New York style! They get busy quickly, so I recommend going for a late lunch/early dinner if you don't like long wait times! You can also order take out (they don't deliver). We love the T Rex and Zeus, but you can't go wrong with any of their pies!

Deep dish/Chicago Style Pizza. If you go here, get the deep dish! It takes about 45 min to cook (longer if they're super busy), but SO worth the wait. They also have great apps and salads that you can enjoy while you're waiting.

Another pizza place! This place is more casual with personal pizzas. They have great sauces and so many toppings to choose from! Bonus - it's right down the street! My fav sauces are the white and spicy red. Don't skip the dipping sauces. They have some great homemade sauces to top/dip your pizza in as you eat.

Great burgers and fries with high quality ingredients. They also have a solid milkshake! Go conservative on the meat temperature, as they air on the rare side. I usually like a medium rare, but here I have to order medium.

We are a family that loves sugar! Here are some of our favorite spots around town.
There are several locations around town (the closest actually being at the farmers market downtown, but it has limited hours). Jeni's is the place to go for high quality, unique flavors. I always end up with the salted peanut butter and the darkest chocolate, but don't decide before sampling a few!

Mike's is probably our favorite, because they don't skimp on the scoops. All the ice creams are made locally, and the flavors change often. They also have fantastic milkshakes!

If you're looking for something that isn't ice cream, this is your place. Ever since we discovered this place, we've visited regularly. You can get a slice of cake, a brownie/rice krispy treat, cookie, muffin, cinnamon roll. Everything they make is fantastic, and they're always putting out something new! My favorite is the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Super rich and amazing! They also have homemade oatmeal creme pies that end up coming home with us almost every time.

Five daughters donuts are not your typical donuts. They are more a full fledged dessert. They are huge, flaky, masterpieces. They're all delicious... I can't even pick a fav.
