Excellent ramen soups, kinda expensive (a large 1 L soup is 30zl) but damn is it good! It is always crowded so you may have to wait.

Shopping

Awesome 19th century market hall overflowing with excellent produce. I go here to buy rare veggies or flowers. There are two cheap restaurants here (like 10zl for a typical Polish meal) and the bar Targowa is located outside offering decent food and 12 craft beers on tap (but downstairs! the patio bar only serves mediocre stuff).

Drinks & Nightlife

Panczo foodtruck (check em out on Facebook) parks here, they serve some of the best Texmex I've ever eaten (try the Big Ass Burrito). Other foodtrucks frequently park here, there's also a bar that hosts lots of concerts here. During the winter this place is closed and Panczo opened up a kitchen in 4hops.

Beer lovers unite! If you havent heard about the explosion of Polish microbrewers you are in for a shock. I am a huge beer lover and can honestly say the scene is better than in the US. 25 beers on tap from local breweries, my favorite are Pinta and Ale Browar

Wroclaw has a couple of excellent brewers (Widawa, Doctor Brew, Profesja), but Stu Mostow has a bar and restaurant on site. I would personally recommend going to the Widawa brewery as they have better beer and an extremely good restaurant but it's far away from the city (20 km). It's an hour bike ride or 30 min by car.

Great place to chill out, there are barges with restaurants and bars but most people bring their own alcohol and sit on the grass (remember though drinking alcohol in public is illegal in PL).

Parks & Nature

If you visit the Centennial Hall and Zoo, take a walk through Szczytnicki Park. Not far from the Hall is a 15th century wooden church. Cross Mickiewicza and follow the remnants of the old Odra river and find a number of interesting monuments. There is a decent pizzeria at the corner of Rozyczkiego and Kopernika.

Sightseeing

You can climb to the top of the bell tower (300 steps?) for a magnificent view of the city center (better than the Sky Tower observation deck!). Less people than the bell tower at the main cathedral (Katedra Jana Chrzciciela) as there's no elevator.

Rent a kajak or motorboat here and visit Wroclaw from the Odra river. I really recommend it! If you want to take the kajak or boat out to the center you are allowed to use the lock system, which is a huge highlight in of itself :) Ask the people renting out the equipment, it costs like 7,52 PLN (no joke) for them to open the lock for you.

If you like urban exploring, rent a city bike and get lost checking out the old city port, go all the way to the absolute end as that's where the cool stuff is. Then bike along the Odra river to the east until you get to Jednosci Naradowej street and head back. You'll get a feel of the REAL Wroclaw when biking through the Nadodrze district, a mix of renovated and devastated 150-year old buildings (Spielberg filmed Bridge of Spies here as it was the only place in Europe that is reminiscant of WWII, those little holes you'll see in buildings are actual bullet holes from the war) as well as communist and modern apartment blocs. You'll also see an eclectic mix of people - drunks, thugs, hipsters, the elderly, Polish families... as well as communist-style stores alongside trendy bistros. Please be very careful here, particularly at night.

A street packed with restaurants, bars, and sex shops under the main railway lines street (nice rumble every couple of minutes). If you are tired of the crowds in the Rynek or want a 100% local dive-bar feel just come over here for a drink, bite to eat, or laugh. The Arkady shopping mall is located just behind the railway line.

Wroclaw was once surrounded by huge walls and a moat. The walls are long gone (a fragment remains in the underground pedestrian tunnel from the Promenada Staromiejska to Galeria Dominkanska shopping mall). I really recommend taking a walk around the entire moat until you reach the opposite end at Ulica Ruska.

Entertainment & Activities

A cool "aerial adventure" park, or zip line park that frequently has good deals on Groupon. Take the 1, 2, 4, or 10 tram headed to Biskupin. At the loop, grab a kid's lunch (cause it's cheap) at the restaurant Olszewskiego 128 (the owner is a Masterchef winner), located on top of the Hewea supermarket. The reception for Wyspa Przygody is located in the parking lot before crossing the bridge. You should also see some Soviet fighter jets parked across the street. After zip lining, take a walk around the island. To the west is an abandoned pre-war amphitheater and to the south a lock system for barges. Before heading back home, take a short walk to the end of Braci Gierymski street, there's a 100 year old bridge/dam there and it's great place to sit down and relax.
