Fantastic udon noodles, apparently as good as Japan (I haven't been to Japan so wouldn't know, but they are pretty good). You can't book but it is definitely worth the wait.

If you like pizza.. I'd say this is the best in London. Great value, great atmosphere, the original Franco Manco set in bustling Brixton Market. You will need to queue, but worth it!

A beautiful old Georgian square that's lovely to sit and watch people playing boules on a summer weekend. It's really peaceful with a great pub that lets you take your drinks outside on the square.

Although it's a bit further than Stockwell (about a 15 minute walk) I usually use Vauxhall to get the Victoria line as it's a nice walk along Fentiman Road and through the park to get to the station.

If I have a free afternoon I love wandering here. It has a great vibe and is full of the weird and wonderful: Caribbean wig shops next to fish stalls and butchers, along excellent new cafes and bars.

You can get a tube or bus to the Shard in 20 minutes. I haven't been but keep meaning to: it's the tallest building in Europe and whatever you think about it apparently the views are pretty good.
