Historic and beautiful campus, worthy of an afternoon ramble! Established in 1749, W&L is named for two important men in the University's history, George Washington, and by Robert E. Lee. The Lee Chapel and Museum are a must see while visiting! And don't forget to say hello to Traveller, Lee's famous warhorse buried just outside the chapel! Liberty Hall Ruins is also an interesting piece of the University's history, located on the western edge of campus past the practice fields.
