Recently voted as the 3rd best pizza in the whole country! The Chipotle Steak Pizza and Buffalo Chicken Salad are my favs. If you’re feeling adventurous, the Mac and cheese pizza with reindeer sausage is sooo weirdly good.

An artsy cafe with oodles of vegan options and some of the best (and cheapest) espresso in town. Best in the early mornings (they usually open at 7) or for a late lunch when the crowds have died down.

Apparently, Alaskans are very into pizza. This is the newest pizza place in town, but thankfully they're doing their own thing. Everything here is amazing, and they have some outdoor seating for those sunny days.

There’s a lot of good Thai food in Anchorage, but this one is my favorite!
Serranos has really great Mexican food and a Mexico City sort of vibe. Very artistic, big bar! My favorite thing to get is the Serranos Burrito with carnitas.

My favorite coffee cart, and it's pretty close to the house! They have excellent coffee, lots of unique specials, and a small but tasty to-go food menu. The Pesto Mo' Joe is my favorite breakfast sandwich!

When I travel, I like to visit museums, and the Anchorage Museum is a really great one. Lots of Alaskan art and history, and well as a really cool science area for kids (and kids at heart). Also has a coffee bar, nice restaurant, and a pretty sweet gift shop.

Anchorage's only dine-in theatre! Eat some super good food (pizzas, burritos, tacos, the list goes on) and have a beer, wine or a margarita while you watch a second-run film! Movies are $4 (3D is $5), so this is a great (and affordable) way to spend a few hours.

I actually love our zoo. They take in a lot of injured animals, and it's a good way to see some northern creatures. They also have weirdly good popcorn can you can eat while walking around!

Very close to the house! A meandering paved trail winds through this massive stretch of woods and eventually leads down to the beach. Lots of cyclists, runners, and active people in general utilize this area. Moose sightings are likely, here!
