Closet taco place. Tortillas - both flower and corn - are home made. More Mexican style than Tex-mex. But still has your standard bean-n-cheese & potato-n-egg type fair.

On the newer north-extension of our beautiful River-Walk - the Pearl complex, located on the grounds of the historic Pearl Brewery, is host to plenty of nice dining establishments, shops, cafes, bars etc. There is also a very lively farmers market there on Saturday mornings. A great place for a romantic dinner out.

Historic shrine and site of the famous Battle of the Alamo. Located the heart of downtown and the reason San Antonio is also known as the Alamo city. Please remember that the Alamo was never completed and what you are visiting is the ruins of what was to be a mission had it not been destroyed by Santa Ana's army during the battle of the Alamo. These ruins are considered a shrine because of the men who willingly fought and died for independence on its hallowed grounds. The Battle of the Alamo is considered key to westward expansion of the US

Standard raspas (Mexican shaved- iced treat) + a little more. Great on hot days. For a real treat ask for natural Mango - add chamoy if you want to make your sweet treat both spicy and sour.

If you have the time - visit this mission before seeing the Alamo. There are 5 total missions in San Antonio. This is one of the most well preserved and the visitors center is a great place to learn about the early history of the city and its missions. Our beautiful and historic missions run along the newest, southern-extension of the San Antonio River Walk known as the Mission Reach and combined are designated a National Historical Park which was recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (A very big deal indeed.)

Southtown is a lively, pedestrian-friendly part of town. It is located just south of downtown and next to the historic King William neighborhood. It offers plenty of restaurants and bars at all price ranges as well as few outdoor beer-gardens to choose. The streets are also lined with art galleries and small arts-n-crafts type shops. The neighborhood is colorful and very "San Antonio" in style. Sip a beer at the "Friendly Spot" and watch a Spurs game while looking at the downtown Tower of the Americas. It's the place to be on the first Friday of every month.
