Many of the concerts held at this acoustically and visually superb theatre are open free to the public. The venue is located at the renowned Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester, and talented faculty and student soloists and ensembles perform here frequently. Eastman Theatre, named, of course, after benefactor George Eastman, was updated in 2009 with a $10 million donation from the Eastman Kodak Company. It is home, as well, to performances by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and Eastman Opera Theatre, as well as touring ensembles.

Other Half Brewing Company has only been open since 2014, but since that time, the brewery has built up a substantial cult following of beer lovers that line up around the block of its flagship Brooklyn location to snag cases of its latest releases. It has become so popular that it now has four total locations, including one in the Finger Lakes region of New York (as well as Washington, D.C., and a second Brooklyn spot). Other Half will mostly appeal to hop enthusiasts, as the majority of its beers are IPAs of the traditional, double dry hopped, and high density hop charge varieties, the latter of which is a style pioneered by the OH team (to try it, order the HDHC Roc Showers or the HDHC Dream City). The Finger Lakes region might be known for its many wineries, but take a break from the vineyards for a day to head to the spacious outdoor Other Half Location in Bloomfield to sample their popular IPAs, pale ales, and other hoppy offerings.

Since 1977, family-owned Ridge Donut Cafe has been crafting both tried-and-true traditional donuts and newfangled temptations like cannoli-stuffed powdered donuts and maple-frosted bacon donuts. Expect to find a daily assortment of 30 varieties plus three specials that are often first to sell out. Apple fritters are popular, too, and the cafe serves your basic line-up of hot beverages, and breakfast and hot lunch sandwiches, too.
