Activities locally and in the surrounding area

Kensington Gardens is a small but lovely park with a boating lake right on the seafront and a two minute walk away from our holiday home. It also has tennis courts and two crown green bowling lawns, all of which are free to the general public and for a small returnable deposit, the groundsman will lend you all the equipment you need. We've had hours of fun here (adults and children alike) and would recommend a walk around the corner to explore.

All electric boats hired by the day and a great place to explore the broads from. The staff are really friendly and will be able to tell you where to head and what you might find along the way. Moor up at the Locks Inn community pub for lunch for example but whatever you decide to do, Hippersons provide great eco friendly boats and great service to their customers.

A really tranquil site on the broads where you can hire Paddle boards, kayaks, canoe's and rowing boats. The Wherry Pub is just around the corner or you can paddle for 40 minutes and have a drink or lunch at the Locks Inn community Pub. A fun but peaceful way to see the Broads somewhat away from the madding crowds.

South beach at Lowestoft is one of the finest on the Suffolk coastline and about two minutes walk from home. There's plenty of room for families to enjoy the golden sands and life guards are present daily throughout the summer months. Head a little further south (just past the new beach huts - you can't miss them!) and you can then also walk your furry friend too.

A day out at the Pleasure Beach is still as good today as it has been for many years. Regularly updated with new rides and positioned near the southern end of Great Yarmouth's golden mile it is a day out on it's own or can be integrated with a day out on the Golden Mile itself.

There's so much to see and do here (including a Banksy) that you might wish to google it to find out more but there is something for everyone situated in beautiful gardens and views over the broads.

For a trip down memory lane for the older generation or something very different for the younger ones, a few hours here and you can ride on trams, a miniature railway and trolley buses and just generally step back in time with a great selection of transport from years gone by. There is also a small shop and cafe.

Sightseeing

There's not a great deal to do here but...if you want to see the sunrise at the most easterly point of the British Isles (or just say you've been there) then Ness point it is!
